For some reason, while the photos were exporting from Lightroom I began to think of this song. Anyway, here are the rest of a few from the train station at Mogeely. I had thought about doing them as an all black & white set but when I started fiddling around with sliders in lightroom I couldn’t contain myself.

The madness is about to begin. So many trips to Dublin I might as well be living there… Anyway, one for the road.

An abandoned station. One of my photographic nirvana’s. Directions please, as I want to head down within the next month.
Erm.. Take the Waterford road from the roundabout at the Jack Lynch Tunnel, go straight on at the Midleton roundabout (the next roundabout you’ll meet) and take the left turn after the Two Mile Inn. Follow that road and it’ll bring you into Mogeely. You’ll reach a T junction (with the CO-OP) in front of you. The station is to the left (about 50m away) so park anywhere convenient.
Also, there’s another one a bit further down the road in Youghal. In Mogeely, take the right turn in the town and follow the road to Killeagh. Turn left at the T junction in Killeagh and follow the sharp turn to the right once through the town. Take the signposted exit for Youghal (few miles down the road). In Youghal, there’s a signpost for the beach (I think) on the right. Follow that road and you’ll see a gym/swimming pool type place on your left. Don’t go into the beach carpark, take the left past the swimming pool and go down to the other car park. The train station is at the far end of the car park, hidden behind a nice low jumpable fence.
Then, when all that’s finished, come back to Cork and we’ll head down to Gougane Barra.
I knew I recognised those photos! I was at that abandoned train station too, although I thought I was in the town of Killeagh. Great place for photo!
I think the lamp in the final photo is the same as the one I posted, except I switched mine around for impact.
