After a suggestion from a few of the heads over on boards.ie, decided to get down to Waterford for part of the long weekend to soak in the atmosphere of the annual Spraoi. My head is hurting from all the mock-ya preparation that’s gone into the trip so far, even though it’s only an hour and a half from home. My head could also be hurting from the several pints I consumed last night; although I don’t want to admit to being a newly created lightweight just yet.

Once the shakes and the searing eyeball pain die down, I might just get back to looking forward to the weekends events. I was going to say shenanigans, but somehow that seems all too crude. If anyone is in Waterford over the weekend, look out for the group of people with cameras stuck to their faces. I’ll be the weird looking one that looks like he should have gone for a haircut a few weeks ago. Looking forward to two sessions, one of the photography nature and t’other of the knocking back pints nature. That and finally putting faces and personalities to the attending folks over on the photography forum of boards. Yes, it’s now over ten years since I met my first ‘internet stranger’ and I’m still doing it. Or maybe I’m the stranger? If I don’t post again by Monday, assume I’ve gone to a hotter place with lots of pitchforks and brimstone. Either way, here’s some apt Doors…

People are strange when you’re a stranger
Faces look ugly when you’re alone
Women seem wicked when you’re unwanted
Streets are uneven when you’re down

When you’re strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you’re strange
No one remembers your name
When you’re strange
When you’re strange
When you’re strange
