Yeah all the land around that area is private but if you dont interfere with anything or dont go walking through the fields nothing will be said to you and everybody down there is really friendly, its just the land owner got a knife pulled on him before by somebody fishing on his land

I am one of the people who lives at that house / farm / private land on the way to the lighthouse. Glad ye can read the signs. Just got a great kick reading the above replies. Quiet entertaining for us folk living at the edge of the penninsula. The accomodation at the lighthouse cottages is highly recommendable. Peaceful and tranquil. Lots to do and visit in the area especailly during the summer months. Fabulous walks also but beware of local dogs tagging along for their daily stroll.Nearby Clonakilty has lots to offer by means of social and physical envionment, many nice cafes, restaraunts, pubs, hotels, cinemas, leisure centres etc. and definately worth a drive to Inchdoney, whether for a walk, surf lesson, a coffee, treatment in the spa, lunch or dinner. All very reasonable and beautiful. Plenty ammeneties also in the Rosscarbery area west of Galley Head. Whale watching is very popular from the fishing village of Unionhall. Now after all that promoting the area, please visit, and if you are having a party of any sort in your rented accomodation, don't forget to invite the neighbours!!

It is private land Conor, you can only go so far until you have to just park and walk around. Theres a house right on the headland and you have to drive pretty much around another house & some sheds etc to get to that. To recap, keep driving until someone tells you to get out of their driveway.

As you go through Clonakilty you pass the Inchidoney turn off and it's the next one on the left I think. There are signs for it pretty much all the way there.
