That's another reason for SD cards to take over certain segments of the market. No chance of slot damage. Nikon may be on to something.

Thanks for the advice Daragh. I kinda guessed it'd be going to the UK, and that I'd have to chase them like a Kerry Garda chases a Ballymun scumbag. I can only imagine I'll be ringing them daily (or at least every two days) until I get some satisfactory news.

That will most likely go to Canon UK for repairs. As you probably know, my 20D's been back a few times now, I can't say I've had great experiences with ISS, they suck pretty much. But, last time out, I got talking to the Team Lead in the Canon Service Centre in the UK, who was most helpful, and I have put him in contact with ISS, which seems to have lead to a slight improvement in the repairs process via ISS.

You will need to chase them...LOTS for updates though. Most recently one of my lenses did not return with my camera, as apparently it was awaiting a spare part. Whilst the rest of the kit arrived back, a week later I still hadn't heard anything, called up ISS and found that my lens had been there for a few days, but, the person handling it for me had gone on leave and no-one else bothered contacting me, despite my details being on the lens return!! Grrr!

You may dare... Pins in the card slot got bent. That's about it. Just hope a new cf slot doesn't cost the earth (or I'll snap and buy a 5D)
