Given that GoDaddy sucks the sweat of a dead mans balls (not my words but I fully agree) and WSM are stupidly expensive, who should I move all my domains to when my renewals come up later this year? I was going to move them all to GoDaddy, but after the recent fiasco with one of my now ex-domains, I’m looking for someone else. Any recommendations?

I’ve been using letshost for domains and hosting and have been very happy over the past two years, especially with the customer support and features. http://tinyurl.com/nwhst
As the only Irish ICANN registry, we’d love your business, and I can offer you a rate of €6.95 per domain year on com/net/org/info/biz
The person that told you that GoDaddy sucks the sweat off a dead man’s balls would be happy to do it for you, but he doesn’t compete on price.
its worth checking out the hosting package from Bravenet as well. I got 2 years domain and hosting for $230cdn which is something like 130 euro….depending on the rate of course…they support php which is what I wanted….mysql database is straightforward to use there as well…..so says gargamell formerly of douglas
I’ve already got 20gb of hosting dirt cheap, just need a place to house my domains.
Adam, price is the main sticking point and why I want to move from WSM/Adgrafix. Trying to find somewhere on par with godaddy pricewise, but less facist.
I completely agree about GoDaddy. Website sucks. They make it virtually impossible for you to give them your money. After several exasperating attempts I used Pair for domain registration and web-hosting - http://pair.com/
Very happy with the service
You get what you pay for I’m afraid Ryan. Anyone that cheap can’t be trusted to give a shit about you as a customer imho.
Seems so in this case…I’ve got a couple of months to ponder on it anyway.
Whats wrong with GoDaddy I’ve been getting gTLDs for USD 6.95 - 7.20 for a while, thats a better price then enom, and they don’t require a preloading of USD 100 in advance (summary : godaddy have good prices)
bravenet provide a domain registry service for 8.95 @ year
1 Year(s). $8.95 per year (Total: $8.95)
2 Year(s). $8.95 per year (Total: $17.90)
3 Year(s). $8.95 per year (Total: $26.85)
5 Year(s). $8.95 per year (Total: $44.75)
If price is all that matters to you Ambrand, then you should stick with them. If you want support, service, and a better than average chance of your site staying up, you might want to think again. in summary, and to reiterate: GoDaddy sucks the sweat off a dead man’s balls.
