Conduire a What?!?

Conduire a WHAT?

Several weeks ago, I spotted a rather odd sign while driving out of Cork airport. It appeared to be advising English & German speakers to drive on the left side of the road, whereas French speakers should drive on the right! Since first sighting the piece of genius signage, it has provided me with chuckles every time I drive out of the airport grounds. I’m not the only person to spot it though. Damien also raised the issue which prompted me to finally get a photo of the sign this afternoon. Several boards users have also made the discovery.

I can only hope it wasn’t the cause of several preventable rental car pile-ups on the airport roundabout…

Or should it be, ‘Drive on de left frenchie boy!’

I doubt that’s French since then it should have said ‘Conduire à droite’ and it doesn’t look like the last word could be ‘droite’. Is it possible that it’s Italian? Or is it the word just too blurry? :p

looks pretty French to me… Unlikely that its anything else as multi-lingual road signs in Ireland are all English/French/German. Not to say there are no Italian signs, I just haven’t seen any.

It’s just the blur over the last word that’s making me doubt. ;)

Maybe conduire means reverse in French.

    you can choose :
    - drive in the middle between left and right
    or
    - drive in the middle between right and left
but don’t drink too much before
