Would it be too bold to gauge interest in the possibility of a photoblogger/flickr meetup? Initially I’d be looking at holding it somewhere in Cork/Kerry but I am open to any suggestions from interested parties. I think the general format is to meetup somewhere, shoot the hell out of it (with cameras obviously, leave your rifles at home), have a few pints whilst intellectually (or otherwise) digesting the days events.
I know there are a hell of a lot of people around that fall into either the photoblogger or flickr user categories so if interested, sign on the line (or leave a comment, whichever is easier). A little publicity would help too so feel free to link to this from your own blog.
Very tempted, date dependent though as occasionally trapped in Dublin the weekend for work purposes.
I’d actually be quite interested in going, mostly as an observer, I don’t have an SLR or anything but would be dead interested in watching decent photographers at work.
Would like to meet up with some of ye alright at some stage. Might get some idea how you get so many good pics from each shoot, I barely get a handful.

Deffo, I need some advice on my constantly over exposed photos - and I need some nice Murphs too!
Date and whether you’ll have me dependent, I’d try to make it down.
Ello.
Not technically a photoblogger, and am the worst person at actually turning up for stuff, but if I’m down south and the timing’s right I’ll make an effort to be there.

Name a weekend date and place during the month of August and I’ll point my motor towards Cork for the event.
It’ll certainly be a weekend date although given that the amount of days left in August are in short supply I’d be leaning more toward september/early october. I’ll do my best to suit as many people as possible as regards date & location. It will be a weekend and it will be held in the south/mid-west.
Hmm, perhaps I should have thought about this earlier in the summer??
Hmm. Rymus - I can’t currently do 3 or 16 September seeing as I see a dearth of useful feedback on the date front from everyone else, so I’m popping my head over the parapet there. But if it falls on those dates, it falls on those dates.
/me says hello back to Enygma
Count me in…if the weather turns bad, do we just go on the piss instead ?
thats more or less the size of it…
The 5th/6th is out for me.
I’ve a jobbie interview.
Grogg!!
Count me in, but I am one of those film guys
No money for the digital camera yet….
Sounds cool Ryan. I was at the SFlickr event in San Francisco last month and really enjoyed it (even without a camera!).
When the date is sorted, can this be added to upcoming.org? Tag it with irishblogs and it’ll appear on sites like Planet Of The Blogs automatically…
Would certainly be interested, buy may have some conflicts timing-wise… will keep checking for date finalisation!
Ryan,
Has this already taken place ?
Couple more of us interested if this event is still going ahead. Hopefully whatever date you pick will suit us.
not a photoblogger or a flicker gal but dead interested in this idea.have an camera (cant use it properly though)count me in!
Might run the idea past the Limerick Camera Club and see if any of them want to go (as long as they are Flickr members of course). So? Any updates?
not as yet.. I had imagined it’d go ahead sometime in September but that looks unlikely now. it will happen though!
I’d be on for it. Some time in the middle of October would suit me. Might have a couple of friends interested. I can offer a couple of spaces in the car if anyone needs a lift.

Have you thrown the idea out there on Flickr groups yet?
I’d be interested in going if it was an informal show’n'tell.. i.e. you show and tell…i sit, they drink…
theres a post on the ireland flickr group about it. All that remains is to name a pub to start in. You should come along anyway.. few photos, sharing of ideas, supping pints…
