Lough Ine death climb
Fearing the onset of a heart attack but continuing anyway, I climbed the hill (could I get away with calling it a mountain?) beside Lough Ine, just outside Baltimore, Co. Cork. It’s the second time I’ve done it and I fear it may not be the last. While the climb may be a bitch from hell it’s all worth it once you get to the top and find a place to sit out of the reach of the millions of flies.

Lough Ine itself

Baltimore, Sherkin & Cape Clear Islands
Thankfully, the trip back down was about six times easier than the trip up. Mental note; next time bring water by the gallon.

The trip back down which if you didnt watch your footing, could have been a trip back down.
As always, more photos and the above photos in different sizes on Flickr.

You went up there? Wow! We were down in Sherkin a few weeks ago and had a view of that hill from the hotel. Rather you than me climbing up there!

I’ve been down there a million times but never saw the islands from that perspective. It makes them look way way closer than they are!
