Further to this, where do you go once you’ve decided on a lens? Say the Canon 10-22mm EF-S for example.
I could get it off the shelf in Cork for just a smidgin over €1000… If I was crazy.
It could also be sourced from Albert at Kea Photo for £399 (roughly €590) + £28 (€42) 3 day shipping from Hong Kong. Which one would you go for?

In my post about 7dayshop I listed 3 companies I found reasonably priced: ac-foto, pixmania, and technikdirekt.
Or Ebay if you buy from a guy in Hong Kong you may not have a warranty. I’m not sure if there is such a thing as an “international warranty” for electronic goods.
Yes, I’m awfully tempted to buy too, but maybe next year. Can I try your lens if you buy one?

If I get one at this stage it’ll be the Sigma 10-20. I’ll pop into town to try that one out in a few weeks time. Depending on how that compares with the Canon EF-S remains to be seen. If it’s anything like the sigma I currently have, Canon can find another sucker.
I’ll give you a shout if I do get one.. if only to make you madly jealous

Perhaps I should have chosen my wording so as not to cause you an excitement overload.. What I meant was, there will be a Sigma 10-20 in Denis McSweeney’s in about 3 weeks time… or so I’m told.
I’ve just been thinking… (an odd occurance I know). I have a booklet of Canon money off vouchers, one of which entitles me to €100 off a 10-22 if bought by the end of this year and within a specified country in the EU. Say if buying it from ebay you were to get a UK receipt… how could they argue that you bought it outside the UK? A further probe into this scam is required.
