The murderers of 28 year-old Christian Scully have been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty yesterday. The two pleaded not guilty to attacking Scully on the 17th October 2002 in Cork city.

Speaking to Cork’s 96FM this morning, Christians mother is pleased that the less than perfect Irish justice system has worked in this case. Unsurprisingly, none of Sheehan’s or Stapleton’s relatives were present in the court for the sentencing. Justice has finally been done, it’s just a bloody shame that Christian had to die to see it happen.
