Lots of people already know that you’re asking for trouble if you buy from soundstore / compustore. Not only are their prices (for computers & peripherals anyway) way above the average, but their staff seem to have been educated in the Adolf Hitler School of Sales and Customer Support.
We have a powerpoint integrated dishwasher at home and since we moved in, some 4 months ago now, it hasn’t worked for at least half of that time. It’s as tempermental as a bus full of teenagers and twice as annoying. Initally, we contacted Soundstore to get a technician out. So far that same technician has been at our house no less than 5 times, and has left each time in the knowledge that the appliance is working.
Sandy rang Soundstore on the 12th of May and was assured by some generic sales dope that the manufacturers would be contacted and we would be given an update on the progress of any fix. Surprise surprise, no call back.
I braved the rush hour traffic today and visited the shop to find out what the hell was taking so long. Yet another of those utterly useless service calls have been booked! Apparently there was no call put in to Powerpoint. Again, I’m not exactly surprised. All this isn’t what annoyed me so much in my less than 5 minute stay in the store. It was the plain rude and ignorant way I was treated by the staff. The person I was talking to (sadly I didn’t get her name) talked over me several times when I was trying to explain the situation, proceeded to call someone on the phone as I was still trying to explain the situation and through all this, never looked at me once. She did manage to maintain a healthy “why should I give a fuck?” attitude towards my situation however.
I honestly don’t know how that shower of absolute morons and ignorant bastards are still in business.
Right, so far we’ve had 5 service calls and I’ve had to call up there twice. Lets see how long it takes to get the damn thing replaced.
